Indoor Golf Lessons in Huntersville and Indian Trail

Tempo Golf Club is home to some of the best independent golf instructors in the Lake Norman and Matthews, NC area. Whether you're picking up a club for the first time, getting back into the game, or trying to shave strokes off your handicap, our instructors offer private and group golf lessons in our indoor simulator bays. Rain, heat or cold, you can train all year.

How to Book a Golf Lesson

Lessons at Tempo are booked directly with the instructor. Pick the instructor below who fits your goals, then call, text or email them to set up a lesson time. Your instructor handles scheduling, pricing and lesson packages, and reserves the simulator bay for your session.

Instructor Name

Wil Mouer

(Huntersville location)

Wil Mouer is a PGA Associate and teaching professional with more than 25 years of experience helping golfers improve their skills and enjoy the game. He has worked with beginners, experienced amateurs, college competitors, and professional tour players.

Wil also holds a Ph.D. in Sports Psychology and helps athletes develop the mental skills needed to perform at their best. He brings that perspective to golf instruction, tailoring lessons to how each golfer learns and moves.

Wil works with golfers of all ages (male and female) and offers individual lessons, small group lessons for couples or friends, and customized packages. Contact Wil to discuss your goals, rates, and lesson options.

Joshua Kerns

Joshua Kerns

(Huntersville location)

Joshua Kerns is a USGTF Certified Golf Instructor, educator, and longtime coach with experience coaching multiple sports across a wide range of ages and skill levels. A Huntersville native and longtime member of the community, Joshua has a degree in Kinesiology from UNC Greensboro and works as a physical education teacher.

His coaching background has taught him how to break skills down into simple, manageable steps and communicate them in ways that make sense to each individual. His approach to golf is built around getting better one step at a time, finding the feels that work for each golfer, and recognizing that everyone brings a different background, body, and swing to the game. Rather than overcomplicating things or trying to fit every golfer into the same mold, he focuses on helping players understand what works for them.

An avid golfer himself, Joshua loves playing, practicing, and continuing to learn the game. He enjoys working with golfers of all ages and abilities and helping them build confidence in their game both on the range and on the course.

Tyler Bishop

Tyler Bishop

(Indian Trail location)

Tyler Bishop has been teaching golfers of all skill levels since 2025 and is passionate about helping players improve their game. Golf has been a major part of Tyler's life for more than a decade, including competitive play and extensive experience on courses throughout the Southeastern United States.

Originally from New England, Tyler relocated to Charlotte and quickly embraced the area's vibrant golf culture. After more than 10 years of playing courses throughout the region, Tyler has developed a strong understanding of the local golf scene and the unique challenges players face.

Tyler's coaching approach focuses on making the game enjoyable while helping each golfer build confidence, consistency, and a better understanding of their swing. Lessons center on core elements such as proper grip, weight distribution, balance, and power transfer. In addition to instruction, Tyler is formally trained in golf equipment and club fitting, which helps players make informed decisions about the tools they use on the course.

A true lover of the game, Tyler enjoys sharing knowledge, experience, and passion for golf with every student.

Are you an instructor?

Instructors are welcome to use our facility with their students and can use our online calendar to reserve some time. We only ask that you and your students follow our Rules of Play while using our facility. 

We also recommend that you schedule some time to get familiar with our technology before bringing students. Our Golf Attendants will be happy to show you tips and tricks that will help you and your students.
